Hang Su is a Professor at the IBISC Lab, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay, France. His research focuses on developing intelligent robotic and wearable systems that can perceive human motion and physical state, understand interaction context, and adapt their behavior accordingly. He develops multimodal sensing, learning, optimization, and adaptive control methods to enable reliable, intuitive, and physically grounded interaction between humans and robots.

He has published more than 150 papers in international journals and conferences. His research and supervised work have received several distinctions, including the Best Conference Paper Award at IEEE ICARM 2026, the Best Student Paper Award at WRC SARA 2026, the Outstanding Interaction Paper Award at ICRA 2022, the Andrew P. Sage Best Transactions Paper Award (IEEE THMS, 2021), and the Best Conference Paper in Advanced Robotics at IEEE ICARM 2020. He has also been included in Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists for five consecutive years (2021–2025).

He serves as Co-Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Neuro-Robotics Systems and as an Advisory Board Member of the IEEE Telepresence Community. He also contributes to the robotics community through editorial and professional service, including roles with IEEE publications and leading international robotics conferences.
